Dr. Tina Strobos

Dr. Tina StrobosDr. Tina Strobos was born in Amsterdam, Holland 1920. She is not Jewish and during WWII and the Holocaust, she and her whole family put their lives at risk by hiding Jews in their house.

In 1940 when the Germans invaded Holland, Dr. Tina Strobos was in medical school. Her best friend was Jewish and was the first person to be hidden by the Strobos family. They had a carpenter from the underground build a hiding place within their house, where a maximum of five people at a time could hide. During the course of the Holocaust, Dr. Strobos and her family saved the lives of almost 100 people, who passed through that hidden room. The Germans interrogated her on numerous occasions but they could never prove anything against her.

Dr. Strobos presentation will cover her experience as a "rescuer" during WWII and the Holocaust.
