Sam Zelikson
Sam Zelikson was born in Viski, Latvia, which was annexed by the Soviet Union in 1940 and Germany in 1941. At the age of 12 Sam and his family were forced to move into the Dvinsk (Daugavpils) Ghetto.
During the Holocaust Sam was deported to five concentration camps including Riga-Kaiserwald, Stutthof, Neuengamme, Aurich, and Bergen-Belsen. He was liberated by the British army on April 15, 1945.
Sam’s presentation will cover his experiences in hiding and in concentration camps, escapes from ghettos and during deportations, his liberation and finally reaching the United States.
